Valais SkiCard

For some time now, efforts have been made to promote a ski pass that is valid for all of Valais. The new Skipass for the whole canton of Valais is introduced in addition to the successful Valais SkiCard in the 2013/2014 season. Here you can find all the information about the new Snow Pass Valais.

General conditions of carriage:

A single charge applies for the sale of the data carrier (Key Card), which thus becomes your property. Your benefits: the Key Card is reusable and can be used in many ski resorts. The Key Card provides several layers – a variety of passes can be stored on one device.

Disruptions in service delivery:

Should Belalp Bahnen not be able to perform its contractual duties as a result of circumstances beyond its control, be it temporarily, partially, or altogether, the buyer of a ski pass shall not be entitled to any claims for a discount or reimbursement of the travel expenses.

This applies in particular in the following cases:

  • the suspension of operations, or piste closures, due to safety reasons, or force majeure, such as poor snow and weather conditions (e.g. wind), avalanche danger, or official orders;
  • operational restrictions and partial closure of transport facilities due to seasonal reduced lift operations;
  • capacity overload of the transport facilities;
  • disruptions of operations due to e.g. technical faults, or power failures;

Illness / accident

A personal ski pass, which cannot be used due to an accident, or illness, must immediately be deposited at a point of sale. Upon presenting a medical report of a regional physician, the fare will be refunded proportionally, starting with the date after the last use. The medical report must state in what time period the injured, or ill person is not able to perform snow sports. Other personal reasons, such as an earlier departure, provide no basis for claims for a refund of the ski pass expenses.

The refundable amount: the appropriate purchase price less the claimed cumulative unit price for the purchased service.

Refund fees: A fee of 10%, min. CHF 2.-, max. CHF 6.- applies for each refund.

Loss of a ski pass

Lost season passes will be replaced at a charge of CHF 30.- upon presenting the blocking code from the receipt for the ski pass. All other ski passes purchased for a period of minimum four days will be replaced at a charge of CHF 10.- upon presenting the blocking code from the receipt for the ski pass.

Control and misuse

Our touchless, or “hands free” ski passes are controlled automatically. Every misuse of the ski pass, as well as the bypassing of readers, will result in the immediate withdrawal of the ski pass without reimbursement. Every person found to be travelling without a valid ski pass will be charged with a penalty fee equivalent to the price of a day pass and a fine of CHF 200.-. Criminal and Civil law enforcement measures remain reserved.

Conditions of carriage

For all other conditions / regulations of carriage, the internal tariffs of the Belalp Bahnen AG apply.
