Tourist Tax

Tourist Tax

The tourist tax is collected from guests, who stay in the catchment area of Blatten Belalp Tourismus. Upon paying the tourist tax, you also receive a guest card. With the guest guard you can take advantage of many benefits in the municipality of Naters and the region of Brig-Aletsch-Goms.

Use:

  • The income from the tourist tax is used in the interest of our guests and serves the financing of: the operations of the information and reservation service; local animation activities; the development and operations of facilities that serve tourism, culture and sports.

Collection process:

  • The tourist tax is collected per guest night.
  • Whoever accommodates guests subject to the tourist tax, must charge the tourist tax and transfer it to Blatten Belalp Tourismus. Failure to do this results in the obligation to pay the tourist tax in person. Landlords and long term tenants subject to the tourist tax, are obliged to transfer it.
  • Accommodation providers and individuals subject to the tourist tax, or long term tenants may, upon request, pay the tourist tax in form of an annual flat charge. At the request of the tourist office, the municipal council will determine the overall number of overnight stays taking into account the average level of occupancy in the given type of accommodation in the resort.
  • Whoever does not rent out their property, or whose property is not used, must notify the tourist office of this fact.
