The youngest of the three museums in the fortress above Naters, which opened on 31 August 2018, is the Swiss Crystal Hunter Museum. Showing the search for minerals in the Swiss mountains as well as preserving this knowledge and skill in a documentary form in a museum are among its intentions.
The visibility
Visitors can learn about the passion of the crystal hunter and what makes the crystals so attractive. The knowledge of how to retrieve the crystals from the rock as unharmed as possible was guarded as a family secret by mountain farmers for centuries and is now in danger of being lost.
The formation of crystals
Open questions such as how the crystals are formed or what a crevice actually looks like and where the major finding areas are are explained in detail in the Crystal Hunter Museum.
Crystals as far as the eye can see. A variety of size, location and radiance. A good place to think about the natural wealth of nature.
With the newly introduced guest card, admission to the Crystal Hunter Museum is free.
