In 2025, we will be celebrating two important anniversaries of traditional animal breeding in Upper Valais:
125 years of the Naters-Blatten black-nosed sheep breeding cooperative
and
75 years of the Naters-Blatten black-necked goat breed.
These milestones are not only testimony to decades of passion, care and breeding work, but also an expression of living Alpine culture. For generations, the distinctive black-nosed sheep and the proud black-necked goats have shaped the landscape of our region - and with good reason: both breeds are not only robust and adapted to the harsh climate, but are also deeply rooted in the local identity.
On the occasion of this double anniversary, we cordially invite you to a celebration in Naters. You can look forward to a varied program with animal presentations, a festival restaurant and musical entertainment with the Grängjierbüebe. Together we want to honor the past, celebrate the present and take a look into the future of the breeding cooperatives.
