The UNESCO Jungfrau-Aletsch Trail is a challenging ultra-trail spanning 250 km and 18,000 meters of elevation gain.
  • Requirements

    Excellent physical fitness and experience in trail running are prerequisites for completing the E250 course. In addition, as a participant, you must be capable of completing the course with a degree of autonomy, in accordance with trail running ethics. We reserve the right to exclude individuals from participation. To participate in the E250, you must have a UTMB Index in the 100K category or provide proof of having completed at least one 100km ultra trail race since January 1, 2022. The organizers reserve the right to verify these credentials.

    The UNESCO Jungfrau-Aletsch Trail is completed in teams of 2 or 3.

    Western States 100 lottery for finishers under 90 hours.

    Drop bags for lifebases

    At the race number pickup, we will distribute 6 drop bags (max. 35 L each) per runner for the lifebases. The drop bags must be dropped off by 18.00 on Tuesday for transport to the event grounds. The drop bags can be picked up on Saturday starting around 16.00 at the baggage storage area in the Curling Hall by presenting your race number.

    Luggage Storage in Grindelwald

    You have the option to drop off a bag for storage in Grindelwald on Wednesday morning before the start. The bag can be picked up on Friday from 09.00 to 19.00 at the Info Point or starting Saturday morning at 03.30 at the luggage storage area in the Grindelwald Sports Center (basement level) upon presentation of your race number. For those crossing the finish line during the night from Friday to Saturday, volunteers will ensure that luggage can be picked up at the finish line.

    Course infrastructure, professional timing, split times, safety measures, emergency hotline, medical services, changing rooms, showers, various Life Bases, tracking, commemorative gift, finisher’s medal, and T-shirt.

    Runners who do not return their GPS trackers will be charged CHF 90.
