SUMMER TÜÜRLI TASTING HIKE
Route
Pick up your glasses and your first drink at the tourist office near the valley station in Blatten (1st stop) before taking the cable car up the mountain. From the mountain station, hike to the Hotel Hamilton (2nd stop), where lunch awaits you. Refreshed, you’ll continue on to the terrace of the Aletschhorn (3rd stop) and from there via Lüsgersee to the kiosk (4th stop). The final leg of the trail takes you back to the Berghaus Olymp at the Belalp mountain station (5th stop).
7 kilometers
The Tüürli trail leads through typical alpine pastures, across meadows, and along small streams all the way to the Aletsch Glacier.
Games
In addition to culinary delights, a game awaits you at three stations. Fun for young and old alike.
300 meters of elevation gain
You’ll cover most of the elevation gain by cable car. On the Tüürli, you’ll only need to climb 300 meters.
5 Stops
At each of the five stops, a wine and/or a beer will be featured. You’ll also learn fascinating facts about alpine life in Valais.
1 lunch
A hearty lunch at the Hamilton Lodge is included.
Packages
Wine Tour CHF 89.00
The classic option. It includes a glass of wine at each of the 5 stations and the “Tüürli-z’Mittag” lunch at the restaurant. A total of two white wines and three red wines await you. Immerse yourself in the diverse Valais wine region. All wines are sourced locally and are lovingly produced by family-run wineries.
Beer Tüürli CHF 89.00
The option for beer lovers. What might come as a surprise is proven here: In Valais, not only is good wine grown, but excellent beers are also brewed. Included is a bottle of beer at each of the 5 stops and the “Tüürli-z’Mittag” at the restaurant. From lager to wheat beer to pale ale: all beers are brewed in the region.
Combi Tüürli CHF 109.00
“How about both?” – We know it’s a tough choice! So you don’t have to commit to one or the other, you can simply book both. Included are a glass of wine and a bottle of beer at each stop, as well as the “Tüürli-z’Mittag” at the restaurant. We’ve got everything covered.
Syrup Tüürli Adults CHF 59.00 / Children CHF 39.00
The non-alcoholic Tüürli. Included is a small glass of syrup to mix at each of the 5 stops and the “Tüürli-z’Mittag” at the restaurant (a small “Tüürli-z’Mittag” for children). The five homemade syrup creations are mixed with fresh spring water—pure refreshment.
Important Information
Pickup of starter packs and keys
At the Belalp Bahnen AG valley station, Rischinustrasse 5, 3914 Blatten bei Naters, each participant can pick up a glass with a holder.
One group leader is designated per group.
The group leader checks in with the cable car staff and receives a form. There, they fill in their personal information and have each group member sign in the appropriate field. After submitting the form, presenting their registration confirmation (printed or on a cell phone), and depositing their ID, the group leader will receive the key for the 5 stations from the cable car staff. The ID will be returned to the group leader by the railway staff after the hike is completed and the key is returned.
If the key is lost, the group leader will be charged a fee of SFr. 100, which must be paid before the ID is returned. The amount will be used to equip the stations with new locks.
Aerial Tram
The cable car ticket is not included in the Tüürli package. The Blatten-Belalp cable car is part of the public transit network, and GA and Half-Fare passes are valid. The trip can be booked as usual via the SBB app or at the ticket counter.
1x1
At each station, every participant may take one glass of wine (or one bottle of beer) from the container.
Our Tüürli is all about simplicity and trust. Participants travel independently and help themselves at the stations. They can decide for themselves when to start and how fast to go.
One glass not enough? – No problem
Of course, we’re happy if you enjoy what you’re tasting. If one glass or bottle isn’t enough, feel free to pour yourself another. In that case, please deposit the corresponding amount in the designated cash box (in the milk can) or simply transfer it via Twint. The respective prices are also listed at the cash box.
If a glass breaks, clean it up and let us know
Although the glasses are sturdy, if one does break, please clean up the shards as best you can and send us a quick text message (or a Snapchat). Especially at the occupied stations, some people are walking around barefoot. We want to take care of their property.
Responsibility
By signing the registration form, the participant confirms that they:
- Is 16 years of age or older (does not apply to Sirup Tüürli).
- Is insured.
Please report any irregularities or damage to us immediately.
Cindy Schnydrig: 079 317 93 58
In the event of an unreported violation, the group leader will be held liable for the damage caused and the resulting expenses.
