FIS Rules

  1. Do not endanger or harm others.
  2. Ski in control. Adapt your speed and manner of skiing to your ability and to the conditions.
  3. Respect the route of skiers and snowboarders ahead.
  4. Overtake while leaving sufficient space.
  5. Look uphill before setting off or making turns.
  6. Stop only at the edge of the slope or in visible places.
  7. Ascend or descend only at the edge of the slope.
  8. Respect markings and signs.
  9. Offer help and alert the rescue service.
  10. Involved persons and witnesses must provide their personal details.

Accident – what to do?
Report an accident immediately at the nearest station or to a ski patroller, providing the most accurate possible details of the location. Every winter sports enthusiast is obliged to give first aid to an injured person.

Slope and rescue service
The slope and rescue service monitors and controls the marked and open pistes. Outside the operating hours of the lifts, the slopes are closed and not secured against dangers such as avalanche blasting or snow groomers with winches. Danger to life!

Slope preparation
Belalp offers excellent snow and slope conditions. Nevertheless, the company reserves the right not to prepare slopes or sections at short notice after fresh snowfall.

Video surveillance
Transport facilities and parts of the ski runs are under video surveillance.

AVALANCHE DANGER LEVELS

Green:
Low: Generally favourable avalanche situation
Only enter extremely steep slopes one at a time and beware of the risk of falling.

Yellow:
Moderate: Mostly favourable avalanche situation
Careful route selection, especially on slopes of the aspects and altitudes indicated in the avalanche bulletin. Very steep slopes should only be entered one at a time.

Orange:
Considerable: Critical avalanche situation
Open terrain: Avalanche danger!
Avalanches can easily be triggered. Spontaneous avalanches and remote triggering are possible!
Do not leave secured slopes!

SLOPE MARKINGS

Slope: Only with skis or snowboard!
Marked, groomed and secured against alpine dangers. Edge markings in the colour of the slope difficulty: blue = easy, red = intermediate, black = difficult.

Left slope edge: Top of the marking poles painted orange for 30 cm.
Right slope edge: Top of the marking poles painted orange for 80 cm.

Runs: Secured against alpine dangers, but not groomed, with yellow centre marking.
Attention: No final sweep/control!
