BELALP WITCHES' DESCENT
For one week in January, everything at the Blatten-Belalp ski resort revolves around witches. The Belalp Witch Festival is a week-long event that reaches its undisputed highlight on Saturday with the Belalp Witches’ Downhill Race. In the lead-up to the big Witches’ Downhill, however, various other races are held throughout the week, and spectators are also treated to a comprehensive supporting program featuring the Witches’ Nights and the Witches’ Children’s Festival.
The Belalp Witch traces its origins to an old Valais legend. According to the legend, a witch once wreaked havoc here. In memory of those days, the Belalp Witches’ Downhill was launched more than 45 years ago.

- You reach the destination Blatten-Belalp via Brig and Naters. You can then take the gondola or cable car up to Belalp.
If you travel to Blatten-Belalp by car, there are parking spaces and an underground car park available in Blatten.
If you travel to Blatten-Belalp by public transport, you change from the train to the post bus in Brig. Social Media
