For almost eight years, the Buergi's Quest concert series has been inviting musicians and artists from a wide range of genres to perform and enrich the cultural centre of the city of Bern. The three instrumentalists Bürgi, Mueller and Schiavano are long-time companions and have already made a name for themselves with the album "Bruchstück" by rapper Baze (2017), among others.
Fabian Bürgi, namesake and initiator of the Buergi`s Quest concert series, invited Pedro Lenz to make a guest appearance at the Barbière in Bern's Breitenrain district in autumn 2019. The Steady Band with Toni Schiavano (bass), Fabian M. Mueller (piano) and Fabian Bürgi (drums) gave wings to the texts of Pedro Lenz (author) on this evening. The audience was treated to a multi-layered evening in an intimate concert setting. After this successful and sold-out concert evening, Pedro Lenz was inspired to take part in a studio session in March 2022.
This enriching collaboration resulted in the three songs Hirschpark, Öppis Näh and Schribmaschine. Without imposing themselves, the musical part accompanies and complements Lenz's lyrics. His warm and haunting voice is wonderfully embedded in the crisply played soundscape. The subtle solos and surprising twists and turns provide a large portion of excitement.
This quartet is a joy and makes you want more!
