The association

The International Belalp Witches' Downhill is without doubt one of the highlights of every winter season. It was first held in 1983 and takes place on a weekend in the second half of January.

An organising committee, the technical commission and over 200 helpers are responsible for the smooth running of the race.

The people of Naters were inspired by the Inferno race in Mürren/BE. Together with the Inferno race in Mürren and the Mittelallalin-Volksabfahrt in Saas-Fee, the Hexenabfahrt is now part of the "Super Three" cup. Legend has it that in times long past, a witch in the flesh wreaked havoc in the hamlet of Hegdorn. For this reason, the popular downhill race was given the name "Witches' Downhill". At this international folk ski meeting, fun, entertainment and the joy of taking part are just as important as the sporting performance.

If you would also like to get involved in the OC or TC of the Belalp Hexe, please send your enquiry now to  info@belalphexe.ch. We look forward to getting to know you.
