11 November marks the start of the fifth and most beautiful season of the year - carnival! Traditionally, the christening of the Oberwalliser Fastnachtsplakette takes place on this day.
In keeping with tradition, the Fastnachtsplakette will be designed this year by the honourable Drachentötern. The plaque will be christened by our noble Prince Count Jozzelin together with the friendly guilds, Bäjizunft and Türkenbund.
The local Guggenmusik bands will provide a musical backdrop to the events with their shrill sounds.
