The chapel was built between 1689 and 1696, and the year 1696 is inscribed in a medallion at the apex of the second innermost yoke. Due to a special episcopal permit of 13 August 1835, the Blessed Sacrament may also be kept in the chapel since then.
Description
In the middle of the loosely populated Stafels Bel, the stately chapel of the Holy Trinity is enthroned on a gentle transverse ridge with the choir facing downhill. It is a prominent landmark in the village, visible from afar.
Mass broadcast in 1978
On 6 August 1978, the service from this chapel was broadcast on Radio DRS (now SRF). The mass was read by Chaplain Otto Walker, while the chapel choir of Blatten joined in the service with four-part songs.
