In 60 minutes on a 3000-metre peak

Sparrhorn

Mountain tour with a view

Climb your first 3000 m peak and experience the breathtaking view on the summit of the Sparrhorn. The hiking summit can be reached from the Sparrhorn chairlift in around 60 minutes. The hiking trail leads around 500 metres up to the summit cross at 3021 m above sea level.

The ascent to the Sparrhorn requires some fitness, but the reward is absolutely worth it. As soon as you reach the summit, a breathtaking panoramic view opens up before you. You can admire the majestic peaks of the Valais Alps, such as the Aletschhorn, the Matterhorn, the Weisshorn and the Breithorn. The snow-covered peaks stretch to the horizon and offer an unforgettable photo motif. You also have a wonderful view of the Oberaltsch glacier and the Oberaletsch hut, from where alpinists set off on their summit tours. During the alpine season you will also encounter many black-nosed sheep and black-necked goats on your hike.

Tip 1: Take your time on the summit to enjoy the moment and feel the silence of nature. Pack a picnic and let yourself be enchanted by the pure beauty of the mountain landscape. Don't forget to take a warming jacket in your rucksack, at 3000 metres it can be cool and windy even at the height of summer.

Tip 2: If you want to keep it comfortable, you can take the chair lift back towards the cable car after the descent. However, a hike downhill to the Tyndall Monument and Lake Lüsgersee is well worth it. A cool swim in the lake after the hike is the perfect summer experience.

Tip 3: Those who like it sportier can also tackle the Sparrhorn without the chairlift. From the top station of the cable car, the hike takes around 3 hours to the summit.
