The winter hiking trail "White Mile" leads from the Chiematte to Schönbiel. The starting point is at the mountain station of the gondola lift on the Chiematte. The path goes under the Kelchbach chairlift near the Kelchbach streambed to a secluded part of the Belalp, which, although not far from winter sports tourism, is still a secluded winter wonderland at about 2100 meters above sea level. Here you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life on foot or with snowshoes. After a little more than an hour, you reach Schönbiel at 2300 m above sea level.
Enjoy the sunshine and a coffee or an aperitif at Ricco's igloo. You can start the return journey using the Kelchbach or Bruchegg chairlifts. Alternatively, you can return via the "White Mile" to the starting point or take the winter hiking trail down to Bruchegg.

Equipment
Sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, sun and rain protection, as well as a sufficient supply of food and drinks are recommended, as there might be no places to rest or shop open. Although the trail is very well marked throughout, for safety reasons you should always carry a suitable hiking map. Bring poles or other aids.

From Brig you reach Blatten bei Naters via Naters, then take the aerial cableway to the car-free Belalp.
Paid parking spaces are available at Chienzlichrommu and in the parking garage in Blatten bei Naters.
